[color=darkred] I Like Guangzhou[/color] 四（1）班 王海丹 I am from Hainan, but I like Guangzhou very much. It is a clean，beautiful, civilized and big city in Guangdong, China. People here are very polite. The deep impression about this is about shopping in Guangzhou. In the shop, the shop assistant will always say “Can I help you?” first. If you tried many times and chose goods many times, and you did not buy anyone, they would not be angry. The most important reason I like Guangzhou is the sightseeing and good wea－ther here. There are many trees in Guangzhou and in every season they are all green. I know green is good for eyes. There are many places of interest we can go. Such as Baiyun mountain, ChenJia temple, martyrs tombs, Pearl River. I like Baiyun Mountain best. We can breathe fresh air, do sports there. Going there can make people more vigorous. And I like Guangzhou, because of the living habits of drinking tea and soup. I don’t know why Cantonese like so, but I know tea and soup are good for human being’s health. Now, my family and I all like drinking tea and soup. I’m not Cantonese, but I like the language spoken in Guangzhou. It is very interesting, but hard to learn. Though it is hard to learn, I take much interest in learning it. Practice makes perfect. I learn it very hard, and now I can speak Canton－ese well. I am very happy. Because of the above all, I like Guangzhou as my hometown. [color=darkred] I Like Guangzhou [/color] 四（1）班 韩嘉宝 On the map of China, Guangzhou is in the south. It is really a big city. There are so many towns in it. Just in Panyu, there are seventeen towns. I live in Panyu and I love it very much. There are many places we can enjoy our－selves. Bao Moyuan is one of the interesting places in Panyu. There are a lot of gold fish in the artificial lake. Some people sell fish food everywhere. You can spend five yuan buying one bag and feed the fish. That’s fun.There are also many big trees, colorful flowers. The nests of birds are on the big trees, they all enjoy themselves very much. Of course, I can have fun every time when I go there. Another beautiful place I want to mention is Lotus mountain . That is a good pla－ce for praying.. The most important part of it is the tall statue of Guangying. Many people visit there and pray good luck for their families, their marriage, their career. You can also enjoy trees, flowers, waters, stones there. From the top of the mountain, you can also watch the pearl river. That’s really good. My hometown is a beautiful and rich place. There are many tall buildings here. It is in south of China and it is a capital city . The weather there is always hot and even in winter, it does not snow. Every season, we can see green trees here and there. Many people from other places come to the city to make much money. Can you guess the name of the city? Yes, it is Guangzhou. Guangzhou has a long history. There is a long and big Pearl River and the sea is near here. Many years ago, it was an important port. Do you know the symbolic flower of Guangzhou city? That’s Kapok. The flowers are red like heroes’ blood, and they often bloom and come out before the growing of leaves. Guangzhou is a hero city. In Qing dynasty, during the opium wars, the people from Sanyuanli fought ag－ainst the enemies. In recent years, many people died for freedom and happier life. The 72 martyrs in Huang Huagang and the soldiers died in Guangzhou uprising all proved that Guangzhou is a city of heroes. I am moved by the history of Guangzhou. I like the scenery in Guangzhou. In spring, there are many birds and flowers. We can enjoy the new greens and fresh air everywhere. In summer, it is very hot, but not horrible. We can go swimming. That is my favourite sport. In autumn, we can have picnic out of doors. In winter, it is not too cold. Wearing a sweater is enough to keep warm. It is a good place to spend the days of winter. I am a Cantonese. It’s also the capital city of GuangDong province. I’m from Taiwan, but now I live in Guangzhou. I like Taiwan, but I really like Guang－zhou, too. Except Cantonese, there are many people from other places. They can’t speak Cantonese. They can only speak Putonghua or English. But whatever language they speak, they can get on well with each other. Cantonese are friendly and kind. They welcome people from all over the country or the world. That’s one reason of why I really like Guangzhou. Guangzhou has another name, flower city. Do you know why? I guess, maybe the weather here is good for flowers’ planting and growing. In Guangzhou, you can see many flowers here and there. People from many other places always buy flowers from our city. Every season, you can see flowers and green trees. Of course, there are many kinds of vegetables and fruits every season. We enjoy our life here. This is the second reason of why I like Guangzhou. People in Guangzhou have a good habit of drinking tea. You know, tea is a tra－ditional drink in China, it’s especially popular in Guangzhou. Cantonese often drink tea with dim-sum in the morning, afternoon or evening. Tea is good for our health. I like drinking very much. My father is a tea fan. He likes Gongfu Tea very much. And he has his own tea pots, cups and other things about making Gongfu Tea. The above is the third reason. The last reason is I study at English School in Guangzhou. It’s big, clean and beau－tiful. It’s also a good place to study. I like it very much. And I love all the teachers there. With the rapid development in all fields, Guangzhou’s tomorrow will be much better. There are so many big cities in it. But I love Guangzhou best. Why? Because it is very beautiful and big. To tell you the truth, I’m from Guangzhou. It is my hometown. It has long history, so there are many pla－ces of interest. Near Baiyun Mountain, people living in Guangzhou can breathe fresh air. The most famous product of Guangzhou is herbal tea, such as Wanglaoji. People in Guangzhou can speak Cantonese, putonghua and even English, but canonese is more popular here. Do you know Feihong Huang？ He is good at Chinese Gongfu. He is from Guangdong. You can know Guangzhou from him. He is my hero. I do want to have such good Chin－ese Gongfu like him. Guangzhou is also a flower city. There are many kinds of beautiful flowers. Maybe the weather here is good for planting and growing flowers, I guess. There is a beautiful and long river in Guangzhou. Its name is Pearl River. It is very famous in south of China. We drink and use the water in it every day. It is really like our mother. I like Pearl River. I have been in Guangzhou since my birth.
